Evangelos Kaimakis was born in Athens in 1977. He graduated from the Athens College in 1995 where he was a student at the Art Workshop of Vassilis Charos. Immediately after, he left to study industrial design in Britain. He graduated from the University of Glasgow and the Glasgow School of Art where he was awarded the B. Eng. (Hons) in Product Design Engineering. The next two years he worked as a design engineer at Dyson Research in England. In 2001, he was offered a scholarship for the two-year Master MA course in Design Products at the Royal College of Art in London. He studied with success under Ron Arad, Tony Dunne, Durrel Bishop and Fiona Raby and graduated in 2003.

He has been living and working in Athens since 2005. He is a tutor of Industrial Design at AKTO, the Athenian Artistic and Technological Group. He has participated in exhibitions of art, design and graphic communication in Greece, Germany, UK and Japan. In 2006, he founded 'Kaimax Creative Industries', based at Thission, Athens. He is also one of the core founders of the 'E.D.W.' workshop, an innovative art and design incubation studio based in Athens.
