Achilleas is based in Athens, working as a freelance photographer with major local magazines and newspapers. (Epsilon, Tachydromos, Vimagazino, FAQ, To Vima). His work focuses on social issues linked to immigration, immigrant integration policies, religion and class inequality.
He has participated in many group exhibitions, such as City Streets / Athens 2007 and a joint traveling exhibition in collaboration with the British Council and The Migration Policy Institute, curated by Nikos Economopoulos – Magnum Photos –documenting immigrants in Athens. He has also covered the Tsunami aftermath in Sri Lanka, which resulted in a joint exhibition with Medecins du Monde/ Cyprus. His work is also included in the book City Streets, published by the British Council, the Migration Policy Institute and the Cultural Center of the National Bank, and is part of the Oskar Fucks private collection in Istanbul, Turkey.
